An Apple A Day Story
Updated: Oct 14
Everyday before I left the house for my senior year of high school, my father would put on the kitchen counter, an apple and a handwritten note for me.
We didn't see each other in the mornings before going off to school and work, but every morning I came down the stairs to find that he was always thinking of me.
These daily notes consisted of everything under the sun: inspirational quotes, random doodles, simple I love yous, and moments of gratitude. I collected each note that was left on that kitchen counter in a shoe box in my bedroom.
Then I went to college. 221 miles away from home. While that was only about a 4 hour drive, I was still quite a ways away from that kitchen counter and my dad.
But on my first day of my freshman year of college, I got a text. A note from my dad and an apple emoji.
And somehow I knew it would all be okay.
I decided to create the journal from then on, keeping a updated spreadsheet with all the different quotes and thoughts. The journal combines my love for planning and my dad's love of writing (he always had a journal is his back pocket throughout my childhood). It was the perfect christmas gift for him.
So perfect we decided to share it with the world. Now An Apple A Day journal can be yours! And I hope you love it as much as we do!
